Procedures for Conducting Probabilistic Safety Assessments of Nuclear Power Plants (Level 2) : Accident Progression, Containment Analysis and Estimation of Accident Source Terms: a Safety Practice (IAEA Safety Standards Series)

This Safety Practice provides guidance on how to conduct a Level 2 probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) of a nuclear power plant for the use of those performing or managing Level 2 PSAs. Emphasis is placed on the procedural steps of a PSA rather than on detailed methods. The aim is to standardize the framework, terminology and forms of documentation for Level 2 PSAs to facilitate their external review. This report complements Safety Series No. 50-P-4, Procedures for Conducting Probabilistic Safety Assessments of Nuclear Power Plants (Level 1).
