Rahm (U. de Montrǎl) reports some of her findings from years of research on informal science learning in programs about science and the lives of diverse youth. From a foundation of sociocultural-historical theory, she demonstrates to educators that learning can go on in school as well as out, and that the two arenas are complementary and constitutive of the literary development of young people.
